Crime being committed by people under the age of 50 in the Villages

To the Editor:

I wish the people buying or renting homes in The Villages would have a background criminal check on them. It is alarming the amount of individuals being arrested for criminal crimes or other problems. There has got to be a law to protect us seniors that brought here to feel safe. I am actually afraid to leave my windows open at night (when weather permits). I thought we were safe but I guess the owners (the family) do not care as long as they make their sales. What a shame. I know there is crime in every city but we live in a retirement development and moved here to be a lot safer. The Daily Sun reports nothing and that is a shame. Thank you for keeping us informed.  Just wish we did not have to be afraid.
