Lady Lake man arrested after allegedly threatening law enforcement officers

Ron Jon Williams

A 26-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested after allegedly threatening law enforcement officers.

Lady Lake police and Lake County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday night were at the home of Ron Jon Williams at 37415 Happy Lane, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Williams had reportedly taken medication that could be harmful. He was uncooperative and grabbed a door handle as if he was going to enter his house. The law enforcement officers were concerned he might have weapons in the home and took him to the ground.

Williams grabbed a deputy by the head and physically resisted efforts to restrain him.

“Take the handcuffs off and I will take all of you out,” Williams said, according to the arrest report.

He was transported by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center where he was medically cleared.

He was then arrested on a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.

He was arrested earlier this year on a drunk driving charge. At the time of that arrest, he became unruly and had to be restrained.
