Women meet sheriff’s deputy at Summerfield minimart to report attack

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to a Summerfield minimart for help early Tuesday afternoon.

When the deputy arrived at the Qwik King, located at 16481 U.S. Hwy. 301, he was met by two Ocklawaha women who were waiting for him in the parking lot.

The women, ages 64 and 33, told the deputy they wanted to report a case of domestic battery, a sheriff’s office report states, adding that two witnesses, a 62-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman, also were involved.

The deputy took the report, which doesn’t list the suspect’s name, and filed his body camera footage into evidence, the report says.
