Popular health-conscious Villages restaurant suddenly shuts its doors

A popular restaurant in The Villages that specialized in healthy food choices and offered vegan options has suddenly closed its doors.

The Bowlbar Kitchen, which was located at 4058 Wedgewood Lane near the Wal-Mart Supercenter and The Villages Charter School, posted a sign reading, “Regretfully, Bowl Bar has closed. Thank you everyone for the love and support! We had a ball!” The restaurant’s website and phone answering machine also reported that the restaurant was closed.

The signage has been stripped from the former home of the Bowlbar Kitchen restaurant in The Villages.

“My vegetarian heart is BROKEN,” said Whitney Morse, who runs The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center and the Studio Theater at Tierra Del Sol. Gary Morse’s granddaughter has been regularly spotted at Bowlbar.

The remnants of the restaurant could be found in a dumpster.

The eatery, which offered a variety of bowl dishes ranging from Asian noodles with various meats to salads and vegetarian selections, had offered both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an indoor garden. The restaurant boasted about creating dishes with fresh ingredients and providing gluten-free choices to its customers. And it even offered specialty teas and a drive-through window for those customers who were on the go.
