Let’s support our president and help him drain the swamp

To the Editor:

Why are there so many police departments in Florida and across this great country not reporting illegal aliens to ICE. There seems to be a lot of sanctuary counties in the state of Florida. I have read numerous stories about drivers being pulled over for various violations and they have no proper identification and they admit to being here from another country. In one case the only identification the driver had was a voter registration card. (I wonder how many times that card was used during the last presidential election, since no photo ID’s are required). What are the odds of these violators showing up for court? Why aren’t they arrested with mugshots and finger printed and why isn’t ICE notified? There is a local story where ICE was trying to conduct a raid at a construction site at the Villages and everyone just disappeared with some power tools still running. Why aren’t companies held accountable for hiring illegals?

Back to my story. I realize police officers have a difficult and dangerous job, even more so in this case with all the hatemongers and the racist organizations like Black Lives Matter spouting out to kill cops and cops not reporting and getting illegal criminals deported is not helping. I also realize that it’s not the individual officers policy and that the Sheriff, police chief, mayor or even the governor are behind these illegal decisions. Perhaps, the officers could take some individual responsibility and report these criminals. The next life safe may be that of a cop or their own.

What I don’t understand is, why do elected officials who take an oath of office on a Bible and swear to uphold the laws of the Constitution and protect this country against all enemies foreign and domestic, why aren’t they held accountable and arrested and kicked out of office? By the time the next election comes around the damage has been done and as is the case with the country, eight years of damage and divisiveness by our former White House occupant will take years to heal.

Do we really want to follow in the footsteps of California and New York?

By the way, I too am an immigrant (legal) and I served this country in the USMC and became a citizen of this great land.

For the future of the United States of America let’s support our president and help him drain the swamp.

God bless America and our president.
