A 47-year-old Villager was arrested after she allegedly tried to strangle her boyfriend at their home on the Historic Side of The Villages.

Lady Lake police were dispatched to the 600 block of Tracy Drive after receiving a 911 call from the boyfriend of Kimberly A. Morin. She told the investigating officer that she and her boyfriend had been drinking and got into an argument. Morin put her hands around her boyfriend’s neck and attempted to choke him, according to the arrest report. The boyfriend broke free and fled to a friend’s house, the arrest report indicated.

Morin was arrested on a charge of felony domestic battery. While she was being transported to the Lake County Jail, she suffered a medical episode and had to be diverted to the Leesburg Regional Medical Center. After she was cleared by medical personnel, she was transported to the jail where she later posted $1,500 bond and was released.

Shortly after 9 p.m. the following day, Morin was re-arrested after she allegedly violated a condition of her release by returning to the residence where her boyfriend was present. She told police she had returned to pick up prescription medicine and clothing.

She is now being held without bond at the jail.
