Villager trapped under golf cart after collision with automobile

A Villager was trapped under her golf cart after she was cut off by the driver of an automobile at about 11 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Bailey Trail and Bethune Way near the Lake Miona Recreation Center.

The woman driving the golf suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office which investigated the accident.

The driver of the automobile was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
