A new house being built on the Historic Side is turning heads because of a large RV garage the new home features.

The new home is being built at 1327 E. Schwartz Blvd.

The owner reportedly paid $138,000 for the home, with an oversized lot. The owner demolished the existing home.

The owner presented a plan for the new home, with included the RV garage, to the Architectural Review Committee.

The first two times it was turned down by the ARC. However, the third time proved to be the charm.

The RV garage was moved from the front of the house to the side, said ARC Chairman Irv Markley.

“The plan fit into the neighborhood and met all of the deed restrictions,” Markley said.

And the RV garage is not setting a precedent in The Villages.

There are homes in Harmeswood at Belle-Aire and in Bridgeport at Miona Shores with RV garages , he added.
