Ocala man killed in crash in Alachua County

A 59-year-old Ocala man died as a result of injuries suffered Thursday morning in a crash in Alachua County.

Glason Oliver Anderson died at UF Health Shands Hospital after the accident at 5:55 a.m. at U.S. Hwy. 441 and County Road 234.

Anderson attempted to turn northbound onto U.S. Hwy. 441 from the intersection and failed to yield the right of way to a 2016 Nissan Sentra driven by Zoe A. Williams, 27, of Deland, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. 

Williams suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Shands hospital.

The intersection was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while investigators took measurements and documented the scene. All lanes were reopened at approximately 9:30 a.m.
