Margaret E. Haeck

Margaret E. Haeck, formerly Margaret Hershberger, age 100, of Fruitland Park, FL, passed away at The Villages Hospice House on November 13, 2016. Margaret was born on August 1, 1916 in Middlebury Twp., Elkhart County, Indiana to Erwin and Edna Hershberger. Margaret married Alfons Haeck on August 28, 1937 and they shared 65 years of marriage together. They lived in Mishawaka, Indiana for 60 years before moving to Florida to be closer to their son and grandchildren. Alfons passed away on May 6, 2002. Surviving are her son, Robert Haeck of Fruitland Park, FL; grandson, Bobby Haeck of Merritt Island, FL; granddaughter, Kelly Haeck Duguid of Lakeland, FL; sister, Mary Lou Hershberger Sloan of Mishawaka, IN; and eight great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Alfons in 2002; sister, Maxine Hershberger Juday in 2009; and her brother, William Hershberger in 1988. Margaret was a kind and caring person, loved by all whose lives she touched. She was a graduate of Mishawaka High School Class of 1935 and worked most of her life, retiring from the South Bend Treasurers Office in 1982.
Viewing will be at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, Indiana on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Entombment will be on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Chapel Hill.
