A 27-year-old man arrested last year after punching another man in the face at the Chula Vista Recreation Center has been sentenced in the case.

Joshua J. Duffy-Sedicino, who had been living with his mother in the Village of Del Mar, was arrested this past September on two counts of battery.

The attack occurred after Duffy-Sedicino asked the other man for a cigarette and inquired about his wife attending the police academy, the report indicated. Duffy-Sedicino also went on a anti-police rant. An onlooker called law enforcement. Duffy-Sedicino also allegedly spit at the other man and at a female employee of the recreation center.

While free on $2,000, Duffy-Sedicino skipped a court date and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody again n April.

Earlier this month in Lake County Court, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days already served. He has also been ordered to pay $1,500 for the cost of his incarceration.
