James Anthony Sosso was arrested Dec. 10 after Lady Lake police had received a complaint about about a BMW which was parked at the Lady Lake Car Wash on U.S. Hwy. 27/441. When an officer asked Sosso what he was doing, he replied, “I was just sitting here sobering up before I headed home.”

The officer observed empty beers cans underneath the car and a case of beer in the backseat.

Sosso failed field sobriety exercises and later provided a urine sample as part of the DUI investigation.

Last month he entered a plea of no contest in the case in Lake County Court.

He was placed on probation for 12 months, ordered to perform 25 hours of community service and was told by the judge not to possess or consume alcohol. He can “buy out” of community service at a rate of $10 per hour. He was ordered to attend DUI school, but can opt out if he takes part in an in-patient treatment program.
