A 29-year-old man arrested on a drunk driving charge after a crash on County Road 466 will lose his driver’s license for a year.
During the investigation of the accident, a Lady Lake police officer asked Gregg if he had had anything to drink and Gregg replied, “Yes.” The officer asked Gregg if he would take part in field sobriety exercises, and Gregg responded that he wouldn’t do anything until his lawyer was present.
Gregg provided breath samples that registered .337, .290 and .322 blood alcohol content. The report noted that Gregg “had a visibly hard time blowing forcefully and for a long enough duration to obtain a minimum required sample size.”
After he was read a Miranda Warning, Gregg said he had consumed two beers at Bonefish Grill and did not feel he was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
Last month in Lake County Court, Gregg entered a plea of no contest in the case. His driver’s license will be suspended for a year and he has been placed on probation for a year. He was also fined $1,000 and ordered not to consume alcohol for a year.
