To the Editor:
As an 18-year resident, I find no problem with the system as it stands. We live in a deed restricted community. If anyone is to blame, blame the realtor for not informing the buyer that this is a “deed restricted” community and each district has its own deed restrictions that can be accessed on the computer or by visiting the Community Standards office. (These restrictions are not in “Fine Print,” but very plain and readable.) BUT that information might squelch a sale so unless asked, I don’t know of any sales person that will volunteer that information.
As far as “trolls,” they are probably a disgruntled person that was denied for doing something against their district’s covenants and are just getting back at anyone who gets in their way instead of sucking it up that they were wrong in what they did. However should everyone be allowed to get away with violating their agreements? These are the same people that probably ignore the 20 mph speed limits on our residential streets, or jack their golf carts well above the 20 mph legal limit and get mad when they are ticketed and abuse the deputy. Live up to your contract and be a responsible citizen.
