Brownwood appears to be a total failure

To the Editor:

Recently, our local print newspaper used the whole front section to advertise how wonderful Brownwood is. There were multiple stories and pictures about activities, merchants, new construction, etc. We have lived in the Villages for three years and Brownwood is a short golf cart away. We love The Villages and wouldn’t be anywhere else. However, we believe that thus far Brownwood appears to be a total failure. We have never heard an explanation from the Developer as to what the problems are. If you take a walk around the town center, there are multiple empty store fronts. One restaurant on the square has failed twice. Strip malls are springing up all around the area, and nothing in Brownwood. The other town centers are packed and adding all the time. Could we please have a real explanation, and not some double talk.
