Man unhappy about move to Florida jailed after altercation on Historic Side of The Villages

A 21-year-old man unhappy about his move to Florida was jailed after an altercation at a home on the Historic Side of The Villages.

Lady Lake police were called at about 3 a.m. Friday to a home at 1509 Hillcrest Drive in the Village of Country Club Hills.

Micah Aaron Dingus

A man there told police that his boyfriend, Micah Aaron Dingus, had punched him in the face, grabbed his arm and threw a wall decoration at him, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He said that he and Dingus, to whom he is engaged and plans to be married, had been arguing prior to the altercation. He said Dingus is unhappy about his move to Florida about a year ago and is “unhappy with the current residence,” the report said. The victim had bruising and discoloration on his face as well as a scratch on his neck.

Officers found Dingus in the area of Kim Lane and Lester Drive. He was “uncooperative” and refused to answer questions after being read his Miranda Rights. He was identified by his Virginia driver’s license.

He was arrested on a charge of domestic battery and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $25,000.
