Hillary Clinton and Democrats largely responsible for Trump’s election

To the Editor:

The Democrats’ choice of Hillary Clinton, with her record of lying, corruption, and incompetence, as their candidate is largely responsible for Trump’s election.
Unfortunately, Trump has now far surpassed Hillary’s record of lying, corruption, and incompetence – as well as demonstrating an amazing degree of mental instability, impulsive behavior, and a suspicious affinity for Russia. It is going to take this country a long time to recover from the damage that he has done, and continues to do, to our national unity, our economy, and our security.
It is disheartening that, even as the extent of Trump’s venality and mental instability becomes crystal clear, few Republican politicians have the integrity and courage to stand against him.  Meanwhile, the Democrats seem poised to make mistakes equivalent to their disastrous choice of Hillary.  For example, they are keeping controversial figures like Nancy Pelosi, a lightning rod for criticism, in power. They are also moving to the extreme left, with crazy proposals such as: free college for everybody, abolish ICE, crack down on cops instead of crime, open borders, and confiscatory estate taxes.
Lets hope that either Republicans develop some integrity and courage or the Democrats exercise some common sense. For the future of our country and for our kids and grandkids, we have to get Trump out of office and control his actions until that happens.
