CDD 2 supervisor frustrated over Comcast’s lack of attention to broken equipment

A Community Development District 2 supervisor vented his frustration Friday over Comcast’s lack of attention to broken equipment in The Villages.

The broken box is located near the entrance to the Cottages of Summerchase.

CDD 2 Supervisor Barton Zoellner said the box has been broken for at least two months. Two orange cones warn the public to be cautious should they approach the broken box.

Orange cones have been placed near broken Comcast equipment near the entrance to the Cottages of Summerchase.

“It looks terrible,” Zoellner said.

Comcast has been notified it is broken, but thus far has taken no action.

Sam Wartinbee, of District Property Management, estimated the cost of repair would be about $900.

“That’s about three residents’ monthly cable bill,” Zoellner said.

It was suggested that if residents began calling Comcast to complain, it might prompt the cable giant to take action.
