Villager arrested on New Year’s Day after bedroom brawl with woman

Arthur Pierrot

A Villager was arrested on New Year’s Day after a bedroom brawl with a woman.

Arthur Gary Pierrot, 70, who lives on Varnville Way in the Emmalee Villas in the Village of Mallory Square, and the 68-year-old woman had been at a party on New Year’s Eve, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

When they got home, Pierrot decided he did not want the woman to sleep in the same bed with him.

The woman told deputies that Pierrot, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 203 pounds, gave her a “continual shove until she was pushed through the doorway.”

When Pierrot was interviewed by deputies early that morning, the native New Yorker admitted the altercation had taken place. He said he and the woman “had been arguing continuously throughout the night” and he did not want to sleep with her, the report said.

He was arrested on a third-degree felony charge of battery on a person over the age of 65.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
