Harvey Wein

Harvey Sheldon Wein, age 80 of Summerfield, passed away April 20, 2019 in Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield. Harvey was born on February 26, 1939 to Mayer and Fay (Schildiner) Wein in Brooklyn, New York.

Harvey moved to the Miami area with his parents at age nine. Since that time, he has lived in many areas including 17 years in Israel. Harvey proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Cold War Era. Harvey was raised in the Jewish Faith and had a great love for Israel. He met his wife Daphne and they were married in the year 2000 in Israel. Harvey loved history and loved reading biographies and reading about the Revolutionary War. He was a member of NRA, enjoyed shooting sports and made his own ammunition. Harvey was a health inspector for the State of Florida serving the southern part of the state.

Harvey is survived by his partner Daphne, daughter Debbie Spahn of Naples, grandchildren Daniel and Amanda, and his brother Jerry and Ruth Ann Wein of Tucson, Arizona.

Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, son Danny Wein who was killed in the Israeli Army in 1986, and brother Marty Wein.

Memorials may be made in Harvey’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
