Villager got off easy after preying on teen visitor

James Michael Haymaker

To the Editor:

I agree with Villages-News.com’s decision to publish the details in a recent sex assault case.
Shame on people who prey on minors for their own self gratification. Sick people.  He was lucky he did not serve any prison time for two felonies.  He certainly got off easy for such a crime and not having to be labeled as a sex offender was very surprising.
This cost the taxpayers a ton on money for almost two years through our court system.  He was the lucky one. This poor victim is marked for life. I feel for her and his spouse who lives with this on a daily basis.
