The search is intensifying for a Fruitland Park man who went missing while deer hunting in Illinois.
A Silver Alert has been issued for 66-year-old Charles Fredrick Egner, who was last seen Wednesday afternoon walking into a the woods in Martinsville, Ill., which is located in eastern Illinois, across the border from Terre Haute, Ind. He was wearing a camouflage shirt and pants.
Egner, an avid deer hunter, is believed to be suffering from dementia.
Law enforcement in the area are using search-and rescue-teams, drones, an airplane, K-9 and blood hounds, thermal imaging, horses and “every other resource available,” including pastoral services and family assistance.
“A portable communication tower has been activated, as well as the Red Cross assistance to the countless rescue teams and agencies. We will continue as we rotate our search teams. Please share as we continue our search,” the Clark County Sheriff’s Department said in an update on the search.
