We need a dance hall

To the Editor:

I realize there are other reasons for this closing, now that The Sharon is bringing shows with higher price tickets. Other than all the clubs and singing groups some of which have dances and sock hops, Katie Belle’s was the one and only dinner dance hall for all of us living here. The writing is on the wall with all the expansion. All I can say is that the powers to be are taking away a great venue The Villages was built on.
We enjoyed the new Katie Belle’s, but the first mistake was razing Katie Belle’s to the second floor. It should have been redesigned and not moved.
We now have no dance hall which was one of the building blocks of The Villages. It seems that the oldies but goodies are being written off. We need a dance hall. What a shame.
