VHS seniors perform with rocker Joan Jett in Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Five Villages High School Golden Girls performed with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Thursday morning in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Shelby Brown, Amber Melton, Michaela Botelho, Chelsea Morgan and Hannah Crenshaw,  all seniors at the Villages High School, performed as Joan Jett sang, “Any Weather.”

The five were part of a dance and cheer team that included their elite peers from around the nation.

For the past several years, the Golden Girls dance and cheer team has sent girls to New York City to participate in the famed New York City parade.

Earlier in the week, they appeared on the “Today” show.
