Donald ‘Don’ Mowles

Donald “Don” Mowles, 74, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. Don and his wife Ellen moved from Libertyville, IL after they had been snowbirds in The Villages, for the past 8 years. Don was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Don loved playing golf with family and friends and he helped lead a Parkinson’s exercise group. He was very involved with the Parkinson’s community giving support and encouragement. He loved being with family and friends, especially the grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Ellen Mowles; children: Priscilla Donovan (Steve), Sallie Mowles (Mike), Audrey West (Walter, III), Robert Mowles and Brett Grossman (Sara); grandchildren: Megan (22), Hannah (18), IV (18), Claire (15), Trevor (12), Evan (8), Holden (6), Maeve (5) and Lucy (19 months); brother: James Preston Mowles; sisters: Juanita Milby (Denwood) and Shirley McKinley.

He is preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Blanchard and his parents Luther and Janice Mowles.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10-11 am on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, with a celebration of life to follow at 11 am, located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral and Cremation, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162.
