Theone Melissa Wood

Theone M. Wood, of The Villages, FL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday the 30th of September at the Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages. She was 98. Theone “Toni” was born and raised in Clear Lake, Iowa.

She and her husband, Wayne, retired to The Villages 34 years ago. She was a wonderful, kind and caring woman who will be missed by all of her family and friends. Everyone who knew her loved her.

She enjoyed playing the organ and keyboards, oil painting and writing letters and cards. In earlier days she and Wayne bowled and played golf and danced. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Clear Lake and a member of the Chapel of Christian Faint in The Villages.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Olive Hanson; seven siblings; her husband Wayne; a son Ronald; a grandson Aaron; and a great grandson Torin. She had three sons, Russell and his wife Judy from Palm Bay, Fl; Richard from The Village of Silverlake; and Rae and his wife Carolyn from Merritt Island, FL. She had 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Page Theus Funeral Home, 914 W. Main Street, Leesburg, FL. Internment will follow funeral services at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
