The third week of the summer season saw previously unbeaten Fross & Fross lose to Palm Ridge Dental 14-6.
Palm Ridge got three hits from Craig Dahlquist and a pair each from: Randy Murgittroyd, Mark Isom, Jim Morton, Ed Krisha, Ron LeBeuf, Jack Nagle, Dan Kincaid, and Bob Jacques. Dahlquist drove in four runs and Krisha and Isom drove in a pair each. The only bright spot for Fross was Cal Driskill, who had a pair of home runs and drove in three runs. Bill Nisbet had three hits and Bruce Harlan, Pat Kirk, and Al Mahar each stroked a pair of hits.
IHOP rode a pair of five run innings to a win over American Portfolio Mortgage’s Team Koller 12-10.
Carlos Lopez, Art Anton, Don Mulneix, Ken Atkinson, and Don Brozick all had a pair of hits. Rick Duemler had a triple to drive in the first two runs of the game for IHOP and Rick Fredieu had a two run homer as part of a five run 5 th inning. Team Koller was led by four hits from Dave Oatley and three from Bill Reed and sub, Ed Joseph. Don Melcher drove in three runs with a pair of hits.
Gators Brownwood came back to tie the game in the seventh and won it in the eighth with five runs to keep Synergy Wealth winless with a score of 13-9.
Bud Sheerin helped lead Gators as he stroked four hits. Jim Rogers added three hits, while Charles Clare, Tim Wilcox, Peter Daub, and sub, Tom Bortle had two hits apiece. Synergy Wealth got three hits from Bob Kelly and Jim White. Adding a pair of hits were: Gary DePalma, Terry Baughman, Herb Lauer, Bob Roth, and Tim Carroll.
The Central Florida League will be off next week so the Villages Sertoma Club can conduct their annual Baseball Camp for the hearing impaired.
