Speeder traveling at 93 miles per hour nabbed with testosterone booster and gun

A speeding driver traveling at 93 miles per hour on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 between Lady Lake and Fruitland Park was arrested with vials of testosterone booster and a gun.

Ian Patrick Diaz, 20, of Fruitland Park, was caught on radar traveling at 93 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Spring Lake Road, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

When an officer approached the vehicle during a traffic stop at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Hartsock Sawmill Road in Lady Lake, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. A K-9 unit was called to the scene and the dog alerted on the vehicle.

A Smith & Wesson MP40-caliber firearm with an extended magazine was found under the passenger seat of the vehicle. There were several spent ammunition shells as well as live ammunition casings in the center console of the vehicle.

Vials of testosterone, THC oil, a smokeless vape pen, a switchblade knife and a Kevlar-like helmet were also found in the vehicle.

Diaz was arrested on charges of possession of a concealed weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $8,500 bond.
