World War II veteran Robert Closs and his daughter Linda Price will travel together in April on Villages Honor Flight.

Veterans and their Villages Honor Flight Guardians came together Sunday afternoon in preparation of their April 27 trip to see the war memorials in the nation’s capitol.

The pre-flight meeting was held at Colony Cottage Recreation Center.

Twenty-two of the Guardians for the flight will be women. Guardians are assigned one-to-one with veterans and see to all the veterans’ needs from pushing them in wheelchairs to being on the lookout for medical issues.

Linda Price of the Village of Polo Ridge will be a first-time Guardian for the April flight.

She will be serving as a Guardian for her father, 94-year-old Robert Closs of Continental Country Club in Wildwood.

Closs was in the Marine Corps in England during World War II. He trained on radar alongside the Brits.

Father and daughter are eager to embark on the Honor Flight.

“This should be quite an experience. I am proud to do this alongside my Dad,” Price said.
