Unhappy that Katie Belle’s no longer a private club

To the Editor:

Yes, it did need some upgrading as it was getting tatty around the edges. But, the concept was great. One main consideration I made when deciding to move to the Villages was the fact that we had a “private” club.
It was a place I truly enjoyed going to lunch and having great entertainment, dancing and reasonable prices. I should note that it was advertised as a private club. Now I learn that it is open to the public. What’s that all about? This is not why I moved here.
I loved Friday and Saturday evenings with Rocky and the Rollers, Uncle Bob’s Rock Shop, Cactus Jack etc. It was an evening of fun. Now it is only open for 1.5 hours to see a “show.”  What is that?  $10 minimum which I don’t mind, but by the time you order dinner, and rush it down, it’s time to leave.  That is not an enjoyable evening in my opinion.  I would love to see other opinions.
