Josephine B. Quinn

Josephine B. Quinn

Josephine B. Quinn, 94, Lady Lake, FL, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017, losing her battle to heart and memory problems. She traveled in Florida’s beautiful sunshine to her eternal heavenly home.

Josie, as her friends knew her, was a patient at the Legacy House Hospice Center in Ocala, Florida. Prior to that, she lived at Hampton Manor in Belleview. She was born in Auburn, New York in 1923. She came to Miami where she met her future husband, Celestine Quinn, Jr. Cel’s passing in 2012 ended their 55 year marriage.

Known as the “Hat Lady”, Josie’s daily attire always included a colorful hat, white gloves and blue eyeglasses. These were her trademarks.
While residing in The Villages in the 1980s, Josie was part of an entertainment group (Way, Way, Way Off Broadway) that sung and danced and performed at many care centers in the area.

Some traveling was part of Josie and Cel’s lives. Following their return to Lady Lake, FL they located in Recreation Plantation where Josie could be seen every day walking her dogs. She was a devoted pet lover.

Josie is survived by her brother Tony (New York), several nieces, and her long-time friends JoAnna Turner and Peter W. (Lady Lake).

A Celebration of Josie’s fun filled life will be held at Lady Lake United Methodist Church at a later date.
