THE VILLAGES – Richard John Darby, 74, passed from this life, Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Bates) Darby. Richard was a retired (36) year inside sales manager for Ken Jones Tire Co., of Worcester, MA. He served his country with distinction in the U.S. Air Force during the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and in the Massachusetts Air National Guard. He was of the Protestant faith and came to The Villages from Worcester in 2010. He enjoyed reading, picture puzzles and building model airplanes. His greatest love was his wife of 50 years, Doreen and his children. Richard leaves his wife, Doreen, son, Michael Darby and wife Melissa of Panama City Beach, FL, daughters, Melissa Buckley of Worcester, Ann Marie Covello of Tampa, FL, Jennifer Benoit and husband Gregory of Orlando, FL, a brother, Philip Darby of San Diego, CA, a sister, Sara Darby of New Hampshire, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
