Sheila King, age 77, of The Villages, FL, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. She was born in Biddeford, Maine and grew up in Saco, Maine. After attending Westbrook College, she moved to Boston where she met her husband Joe. Together, they raised their family in Hingham, Massachusetts where she was both a homemaker and a secretary.
As a 15-year resident of The Villages, Sheila kept busy with a variety of crafting including quilting and knitting. Despite having polio as a child, she enjoyed going out dancing with her husband Joe and they could be found on any given night wherever live music was being played. She was known for her smile and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone.
She is survived by her husband Joseph King; son Joseph King Jr. and his wife Anne; and grandchildren Jillian, Shauna, and Jonathan.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, FL. Memorial gifts in Sheila’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
