Stonecrest woman arrested after allegedly taking items from Bealls

A 53-year-old Stonecrest woman was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly attempted to shoplift items at Bealls.

Deborah Lee Sheply of SE 175th Loop before 7 p.m. entered the Bealls on U.S. 441 in Lady Lake. Once there, she took $58.79 worth of items inside the fitting room and concealed the items in her purse, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

She was stopped from leaving the store by store personnel. She admitted taking the items, the arrest report indicated.

Sheply was arrested on a charge of petit theft and booked on $500 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
