The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the arrival of its newest member to the K9 corps and wants the public’s help in naming the dog.
The new K9 is an 11-week-old male Bloodhound puppy received from Hardee Correctional Institute. Over the next nine to 12 months, he will go through extensive training learning tracking and scent detection before joining the sheriff’s office’s other Bloodhounds, Albert and Libby, on the trail.
The sheriff’s office is launching a social media campaign on its Facebook page and are asking the public to help name the new puppy.
On Monday, July 11, the sheriff’s office will announce the chosen name.
