Woman arrested after allegedly caught shoplifting with her daughter at Bealls

A 42-year-old woman was arrested Friday after she was reportedly caught shoplifting with her daughter at Bealls on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Lady Lake.

Sherry Lynn Stevens was booked Friday evening on a charge of petit theft at the Sumter County Detention Center.

At the time of her arrest she was accompanied by her daughter who was also caught shoplifting at a Bealls location in Ocala several months ago, according to the store’s loss prevention officer. The daughter is a juvenile.

Stevens was released after posting $500 bond.

Earlier this year, a Villager was arrested after she was caught shoplifting at Bealls. She had her granddaughter from New York in tow.
