Ever have a blind dinner date? Whether the answer is yes or know, you are in for a treat as The Villages Theater Company offers up another free Tuesday production named “Check Please” scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 at the Mulberry Recreation Center, 11:45 a.m. showtime.

The show, written by Jonathan Rand, is flat out comedy. A series of two-person vignettes take you on a trip through outrageous situations.  The scenes vary from 90 seconds to six minutes. The show ran for two years Off-Broadway before becoming the darling of small theaters.

Director Jean Lavelle was involved in all aspects of theater before coming to The Villages.  Here she appeared as an actress in “45 Seconds from Broadway” and worked behind the scenes for TVTC in a variety of assignments. This is her first time in the Director’s chair.

“Learning to deal with all aspects of a production has been challenging. But watching the play come alive has been a thrilling adventure,” Lavelle said.

Cast Members are:

Barbara Adams and Ed Slivken

Steve Rubin and Betty Coulter

Vince Maury and Barb Pearson

Rudy Ruckert and Norma Jean Lipert

Vince Lipert and Joanie Young

Lon Abrams and BJ Odendahl

Pat Ellis

“Check Please” runs for about 35 minutes. After the curtain call, the cast and crew will be available for a Q and A session for those wishing to attend. Mark your calendar for this show scheduled for 11:45 on Tuesday, April 21 at the Mulberry Recreation Center. Seating is limited, so it is suggested that you arrive at Mulberry early. Coupon distribution for your free seating begins at 11 a.m.
