William H. Miller Jr.

William Harry Miller, 82, of The Villages, FL., passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at The Villages Hospice House. William was born on April 18, 1933 in East Falls, PA to the late William and Margaret Miller. He graduated from John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA. He served his country proudly in the US Air Force during the Korean War and later in the Air National Guard of Pennsylvania and the Air National Guard of United States. A First Class Journeyman Machinist by trade for Philadelphia Inquirer Schmidts Brewery, Lukens Steel Company and Bethlehem Steel in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a member of the IA of M machinist union. He has written poetry all his life. Some of his poems where published in Library of World Poetry and many poems featured in The Villages Daily Sun. An avid semi-professional bowler, Mayor of Pine Hill, NJ, a life time 32 degree mason of The Villages Masonic Lodge #394 of Wildwood, FL. He loved everything about The Villages and enjoyed the Computer Club, classical music, course of miracles, New Jersey Club VHA, golfing and memoir writing.

He is survived by a son William “Billy” H. Miller of Washington, DC and a companion for several years, Sue Hennings.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. at The Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held with full military honors at 12:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
