Elementary student takes ammunition to school in Ocala

A student took two .32-caliber rounds of ammunition to school Monday at Legacy Elementary School in Ocala.

The student told school officials he found the rounds of ammunition on his front lawn, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He said he intended to turn the ammunition over to his teacher when he arrived at school.

The dean of students told a deputy that the student had never been in trouble before and she did not want to take action, the report indicated.

A family member who responded to the school told a deputy they have no weapons or firearms at the home.
