83-year-old Villager transported to hospital after collision on U.S. Hwy. 27/441

An 83-year-old Villager was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital after a rear-end collision Monday morning on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.

David Gene Beck had been at the wheel of a 2008 Toyota Camry at 10:51 a.m. at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Rolling Acres Road when he accelerated and struck the rear of a 2016 Honda Pilot driven by 73-year-old Raymond Lee Thiele of Summerfield, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Beck was transported by Lake EMS to TVRH. He was also ticketed on a charge of following too closely.
