Cutting through the red tape for a Lady Lake veteran

Congressman Daniel Webster
Congressman Daniel Webster

A constituent from Lady Lake contacted my office because his compensation claim for contaminated water had been on hold pending a determination on presumptives stemming from exposure at Camp Lejeune. A new claim was submitted in 2016 and several exams were scheduled in order to process the claim. The constituent was pleased to learn the second claim had been awarded with a rating of 100 percent.

Constituent services is a critical element of our congressional office. The federal government is a massive operation, and my office is available if you ever need assistance in navigating the bureaucracy or cutting through red tape. We are here to serve you.

I am grateful for the work and service our first responders, law enforcement officers and utility workers have given our state as we first prepared and now seek to recover from Hurricane Irma.  As an expression of Florida’s thanks, Gov.  Rick Scott announced license-free freshwater and saltwater fishing for Florida’s law enforcement officers, first responders, and utility workers through June 30, 2018. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will accept official identification for first responders and utility workers in lieu of a Florida fishing license during this period.

In addition, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is offering free day-passes to Florida State Parks that can be used on an unlimited basis through October 2018 for all law enforcement officers, first responders, and utility workers.
