81-year-old Villager unresponsive after two-car collision on U.S. Hwy. 27/441

An 81-year-old Villager was unresponsive after a two-car collision Wednesday morning on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 near the Historic Side of The Villages.

George William Davis of the Village of Silver Lake had been at the wheel of a silver 2003 Honda Civic at about 8 a.m. and made a left turn across U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at La Plaza Parkway, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

His vehicle was struck by a white 2010 Honda Civic driven by 28-year-old Benjamin David Casey of Clermont.

Davis had made a left turn into the past of Casey’s vehicle. The morning sun may have momentarily blinded Davis.

Villager George William Davis was at the wheel of this vehicle Wednesday morning when it collided with another car on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.

Davis was unresponsive and had suffered head trauma.

Casey complained of shoulder pain from the seatbelt.

Both men were transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital.
