Son’s Christmas presents, coin purse stolen from vehicles at Stonecrest

Christmas presents and a coin purse were reportedly stolen from vehicles in two separate incidents at Stonecrest.

A 70-year-old woman on Tuesday had wrapped Christmas presents for her son and placed the packages on the front seat of her husband’s silver Ford Ranger pickup which was unlocked and parked at their home on SE 168th Loop, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She had intended for her husband to mail them. When he went to the truck, the package was gone. It had contained two Colorado mugs, a Penn State key chain, a key chain with the name “Katie” on it, a red reindeer nose, a Penn State bowl, a Broncos pillow, a beer coozie, a crossword puzzle and Christmas ornaments. The package was taken between 1 and 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report.

At a home on nearby SE 110th Court Road, a couple reported that their Chevrolet Equinox and Cadillac XTS were burglarized sometime between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. The only thing taken was a coin purse. Both vehicles had been left unlocked.
