A Lakeside Landings woman was arrested after drinking vodka at a popular Villages nightspot.
Jennifer Lynn Beattie, 49, had been driving a gray Dodge van with its headlights off at 10:43 p.m. Thursday at Old Camp Road near Old Mill Run at Lake Sumter Landing, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
During a traffic stop, Beattie told a deputy that she had recently had the vehicle’s oil changed and the technician may have “messed with her lights,” the report said.
She said she was coming from City Fire and admitted she had been drinking.
“I had a couple drinks,” Beattie said, adding that she had two vodka sodas.
She failed field sobriety exercises and provided breath samples that registered .146 and .148 blood alcohol content.
She was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
She was also issued a written warning for driving without headlights.
