Bandit makes off with $27,000 travel trailer from Ocala storage facility

An Ocala couple called a Marion County sheriff’s deputy for help Thursday after discovering that their travel trailer was missing.

A $27,000 Grand Design 2150RB travel trailer, much like this one, was reported stolen from the Stone Creek RV Storage facility in Ocala on Thursday.

The couple, who lives in the 9700 block of SW 70th Loop, told the deputy that the trailer had been parked at Stone Creek RV Storage. They said they last saw the 2017 Grand Design 2150RB travel trailer, valued at $27,000, parked at the storage facility about two weeks ago, a sheriff’s office report states.

The couple also said they received notice Thursday from the storage facility, located at 5280 SW 80th Avenue in Ocala, that the gate into the complex hadn’t been working since Aug. 31. They said that prompted them to go check on their 25-foot-long travel trailer to make sure it wasn’t damaged, and when they arrived, it was no longer there.

The couple immediately made contact with the storage facility’s management and was once told the gate had not been working, the report says.
