Fireball-drinking Summerfield woman charged with DUI after smacking street sign

A Summerfield woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after running her car into a street sign early Sunday morning in Belleview.

A Belleview Police officer responded to an accident at the intersection of State Road 35 and SE Palm Road, where he observed a black four-door Volkswagen stopped partially on the roadway and partially on the shoulder The vehicle had heavy front-end damage and a street sign for SE Highway 484 was damaged underneath it, according to the police report.

The driver and only occupant – Tina Antonia Graziani, 45, of 13685 SE 50th Court – told the officer she believed she had a flat tire. The officer smelled alcohol on Graziani’s breath and noted she spoke with a slurred speech and her eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy, according to the report.

The officer completed the traffic crash investigation and started an investigation for driving under the influence. After he read Graziani her Miranda rights, she replied that he should arrest her. In the course of the interview, she revealed she had been at Opus Bar and Billiards, 6666 SE 110th St. in Belleview, where she consumed two vodka waters and two shots of Fireball, the report says.

Graziani failed a series of field sobriety tests and placed under arrest. She was taken to the Marion County Jail, where a breathalyzer test measured her breath-alcohol content at 0.153 and 0.158. She was released later in the day on $1,000 bond.
