Villages firefighters swing into action to rescue kitten trapped in small pipe

A crew from The Villages Public Safety Department hustled to a Villages neighborhood Tuesday after receiving a call for an animal rescue.

Villages firefighters from Station 45 were called Tuesday to rescue a kitten that was trapped in a small pipe.

The caller reported being able to hear a kitten meowing but not being able to locate the animal. So firefighters from Station 45 responded and a short time later they found the small kitten trapped inside an old exhaust pipe.

Firefighters used a variety of tools, including a reciprocating saw and tin snips, and soon were able to rescue the kitten from inside the pipe.
