Speeding driver arrested with THC oil

A speeding driver with a suspended license was arrested with THC oil Monday in Lady Lake.

Joey Edward Rivera Verhagen, 23, of Homosassa was driving on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 when he was caught on radar traveling 70 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

A check revealed that he was wanted on warrants out of Lake County and Georgia and his license had been suspended earlier this year.

He had a vaporizer pen in the center cup holder of the vehicle. The vaporizer had a cartridge containing liquid THC.

He was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.
