The Leesburg Fire Department has received a special grant that will fund the purchase of an all-terrain vehicle.

The Leesburg Fire Department was awarded a $14,969 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to purchase the all-terrain vehicle pictured above.

The $14,969 grant was awarded by the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. Leesburg Fire Chief David Johnson and his department expressed their gratitude to Suzanne Kelly and the local Firehouse Subs restaurant for their support during the application process.

The new vehicle, pictured above, will be available for public viewing at the local Firehouse Subs on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. The eatery is located at 709 North 14th St. in Leesburg.

In 2005, the founders of Firehouse Subs established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, lifesaving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations. The foundation has granted more than $44 million to hometown heroes in 49 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $7.2 million in Florida.
