A Summerfield woman was arrested Tuesday night after her bleeding man friend claimed she “caused a commotion” in his kitchen and then punched him in the mouth.
The man told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that he was in his bedroom when he heard 32-year-old Tia Y. Luck coming into the residence. He claimed she was intoxicated and she “became aggressive” toward him when he approached her.
Deputies noted that the man had a cut on the interior of his lip and was bleeding. They also noted that he had redness in the area of his lips on the outside of his mouth.
Luck denied the allegations against her and claimed it was “all verbal.” She also denied being intoxicated, even though she had slurred speech and was “acting erratic,” a sheriff’s office report states.
Deputies took Luck into custody and while being escorted to a patrol vehicle, she started to pull away, tense up, yell and attempt to go after the man. She became “very belligerent and uncooperative” and refused all orders given to her, the report says, adding that deputies eventually had to take Luck to the ground to gain control of her.
Luck was then transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery and resisting without violence. She was released late Wednesday night on her own recognizance and is due in court May 19 at 9 a.m.
